Minnesota: Federal Grant Boosts Wetland Restoration
Efforts to protect and enhance migratory bird habitat in north-central Minnesota will get a $3.8 million boost, thanks in part to a federal grant awarded recently to the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and its partners. A $1 million grant, provided under the North American Wetland Conservation Act (NAWCA), will be matched with $2.8 million from 10 partners to help restore and enhance more than 4,300 acres of wetland and adjacent uplands in north-central Minnesota. Seems like a lot of money, will it make a difference?
